Craig Wright’s false identity as Satoshi Nakamoto!

The self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin is back in the spotlight. Craig Wright has faced significant legal setbacks and controversy over his claims to be the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

On July 16, the UK High Court issued a ruling against Wright, emphatically sharing the view that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto! The ruling came after a thorough examination of the evidence presented by the Alliance for Open Cryptographic Patents (COPA), a group dedicated to promoting innovation in the ever-evolving cryptocurrency industry.

Falsifications and Lies Exposed

It all started in 2016, when Wright began claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto and attempted to aggressively enforce his rights to the intellectual property of Bitcoin.

However, the court found that Wright had produced forgeries and tampered with documents to support his self-created claims. The turning point came when Judge James Mellor concluded that the creator of a highly technical system like Bitcoin would not have committed the negligent errors found in Wright’s evidence.

The ruling didn’t stop there! In addition to ruling against Wright’s claims, Judge Mellor referred Wright to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for possible prosecution for perjury and forgery. The judge noted that Wright had lied extensively and falsified documents “on a massive scale.” The CPS will decide whether to prosecute Wright for the wrongdoing and potentially seek his arrest and extradition.

Wright’s legal problems were further compounded by a lost defamation lawsuit against podcaster Peter McCormack, which resulted in an asset freeze to cover $2 million in legal fees. Additionally, the court issued several injunctions against Wright, preventing him from making any further claims about being Satoshi Nakamoto, and forcing him to remove such statements from his website claiming to be Satoshi!

As an update, Wright’s website now displays a disclaimer stating that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

Authorities have ordered him not to take any legal action based on his false claims. This development is a significant moment in the ongoing story about the true creator of Bitcoin. It also serves as a warning against unproven claims in the cryptocurrency world.

Final considerations

This investigation is almost over. While the crypto community awaits the results of the CPS investigation, this case shows how important honesty and transparency are in the industry. Such incidents teach us a better future, as the ruling concerns Wright and sets an example for how similar complaints should be handled in the future.
