Cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (BTC, ETH) get green light from UK FCA

The UK’s financial regulator has approved the first exchange-traded cryptocurrency products, a step towards catching up with other financial centers in the digital asset sector.

WisdomTree Inc. said it had received the green light from Financial Conduct Authority to list a pair of physically backed crypto ETPs that track Bitcoin and Ether on the London Stock Exchange. The products could begin trading as early as May 28, WisdomTree said in a note Wednesday.
