Ordinals Asia 2024 Unveils Big Plans for ‘Bitcoin Season 2,’ Emerging Runes Token Standard, and More
The largest annual gathering of the Ordinal community discussing Bitcoin and the growth of the Runes ecosystem saw over a dozen news announcements regarding its global adoption and development.
The all-day event saw nearly 1000 attendees in Hong Kong’s Soho, bringing together an all-inclusive “Bitcoiner” community of builders, leaders, investors and founders working towards what the agenda set was “Season 2 ” of Bitcoin. The successful conclusion of Ordinals 2024 featured a series of hands-on sessions, networking opportunities and conversations that explored topics such as Bitcoin inscriptions, token standards, ordinals and runes, among other things.

Venture capital leaders such as Yushan Zheng, founding partner of Waterdrip Capital, Trevor Owens, managing partner of Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Adrian Lai, founder and managing partner of Newman Capital, led conversations on the global investment landscape for Bitcoin-based startups . According to reports, 2024 has seen millions of capital pour into the market with Bitcoin-backed projects like Botanix Labs raising over $8.5 million earlier this year.
