Ripple CEO Breaks Silence on White House-Crypto Industry Roundtable
Ripple Labs Inc. CEO Brad Garlinghouse has finally spoken out on the roundtable discussion he and other crypto executives attended earlier Wednesday.
Democrat Ro Khanna Gets Involved in Cryptocurrency Industry
Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna hosted a roundtable on cryptocurrency regulation and invited figures including Garlinghouse and an American businessman. Marc Cuban.
Ro Khanna is confident that this meeting will pave the way for the introduction of a robust regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies in the United States. Since the meeting took place, there has not been much talk about it. However, Garlinghouse spoke to X to commend Ro Khanna’s efforts, describing him as an exceptional leader who has taken the time to engage with the cryptocurrency industry.
Thanks for @RoKhanna to be an exceptional leader and engage with the crypto industry. This morning’s crypto roundtable, featuring people like @mcuban, @iampaulgrewal, @ddisparteetc. with the White House and key Congressional leaders such as @SenGillibrand And…

The Ripple CEO confirmed that Cuban was present at the meeting alongside Coinbase CLO Paul Grewal and Circle Chief Strategy Officer Dante Disparte. Some White House executives and key members of Congress, such as Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Deputy House Democratic Leader Joe Neguse, were also in attendance.
Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett said Anita Dunn, a senior adviser to the president, was at the meeting for about an hour. Terrett noted that the initial reaction from attendees was that it was a “productive step forward.”
However, many cryptocurrency enthusiasts disagree, citing the fact that Democrats are not ready to accept cryptocurrency wholeheartedly.
Democrats remain anti-crypto
Ripple CEO also shares this sentiment about the majority of Democrats. He believes they are involved in Gary Gensler’s efforts to sabotage the crypto ecosystem through the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
“Unfortunately, the majority of Democrats continue to support Gensler’s illegal war on cryptocurrencies, sabotaging the ability of American innovation to thrive. It’s no wonder the GOP has announced a pro-crypto stance. Gensler will go down in history as the Luddite of his era,” Garlinghouse explained.
The Democrats’ stance on cryptocurrency has been quite evident, even in the campaign efforts of presidential candidates for the upcoming elections. Donald Trump has signaled his intention to support cryptocurrency companies. His rival, Democratic President Joe Biden, has nominated anti-crypto Democrats Caroline Crenshaw for a second term as SEC commissioner.
Although other Democrats attended Ro Khanna’s roundtable on crypto, Americans don’t see them changing their minds on crypto anytime soon.
