Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reiterated his support for bitcoin at the BTC 2024 conference in Nashville.

“I’m a big believer in Bitcoin. I have most of my wealth in Bitcoin,” he said. “I’m fully committed.”

Kennedy, a libertarian candidate, lashed out at the Federal Reserve, saying that the central bank had the interests of bankers at heart, not those of the general public.

“The relationship between Congress and the Fed is both parasitic on our country and symbiotic. The Fed is not a public institution… The decision makers are appointed by the banking industry,” he said. during a conference panel hosted by TheStreet.

Kennedy also argued that the Covid lockdowns were largely in favor of billionaires, not “Main Street.”

“The lockdowns … shut down all the small businesses in this country, which is what we should be cultivating, and they kept open the Walmarts, the Amazons, the Facebooks, the oil industry, the processed food industries, and Big Ag. They all flourished during that time,” he said.

“We need sovereignty over our wallets, freedom of transaction, and a currency that is transparent. We need to make sure America remains the hub of blockchain technology,” he said at Consensus.
